El último aliento.

The last breath… Imagined Storm…To forge ahead… such are some of the intriguingly titled works for guitar by Argentinian composers Joaquín Alem, Quique Sinesi, Alberto Ginastera, and Carlos Moscardini, and by the French composer Mathias Duplessy that the Hungarian guitarist Zsófia Boros has chosen for El último aliento, her soon to be released ECM album, recorded at the Auditorio Stelio Molo in Lugano, and produced by Manfred Eicher.

Playing this music with exquisite musicality and seamless technique on the guitar and on the ronroco, a stringed instrument from the Andean regions, the Vienna-based Zsófia Boros draws out deeply melancholic sounds evocative of an Argentine landscape thousands of miles away from the artist’s urban milieu.
